hard work doesnt pay off.

well there is officially 9 days until our ensemble.

I am really happy with what our group has come up with and i think its beginning to come together well. As me and Zac went through and checked on friday .. so far we have covered or know how we are going to cover every aspect of the criteria given to us.

We still have a fair bit of work ahead of us in this next week and a bit i imagine we are about 2/3rds through our ensemble..

we would know exactly how long if alex and blainey hadnt gone to sport on friday .. im kidding im totally kidding guys dont worry.

But yes hopefully we have finished by our double on wednesday and from then on we can go through and refine it and make it perfect! because we have worked hard and our overall performance deserves to be perfect.

On friday me and Zac also brainstormed ideas for our costumes and we have come up with some good ideas for that.

and Amelia, you are my idol. Im very very proud of you.

man its been a while since we have blogged this site so here i go

basically our group has just been playing around with a few ideas and concpets and we did a really kick ass performance involving two teenagers who travlled from the future to the 1950s and met two girls who where hanging outside a milk bar. We had the idea that if we used masks (like in the theatre of cruelty) to represent boys and girls in the 50s (boys wear blue girls wear pink) it would be really cool and effective and it was.

We also had the idea of jumbling up the words and using gibberish like in the thearte of the absurd. this worked quite well and if we worked on it more it could possibly be a key component of our big ensemble performance

 u all should noe me im the great looking gangsta that everyone wants “wink wink” but seriously we have an awesome group and some really good talent we have done a few exercises in working with others and most of us were in the same group last year

our performance has not been started yet we have a few problems with eliza and blainey basically bagging the Shi$ out of each other lol apparently blainey is a lanky white S.O.B and eliza is an emo i dont noe about those accusations but i noe i am the best so yea

50’s ROCK n ROLL HIGH SCHOOL HERE WE COME!

hey all out there this is just another blog from the most annoying member of the group BLAINEY i am preety sure by the end of the weeks we have to make our ensemble eliza will tear her hair out and probably want to kill me

ANY WHO

today we split into groups of 3 and we had to use charctiture in order to display 3 charcters

1. was a teenager

2.was a parent

3. was a charcter of our choosing

it was really fun because  we had to be over the top and because i am a loud lanky white S.O.B being over the top is a real fun concept for me. In realation to our perfermance this little above mentioned group actitvity gave us plenty of ideas to use in our big project and i am looking forward to working on it more with my group

In our ensemble we have been given the theme of the ‘birth of a teenager in the 50s’ we are to use different performance techniques such as theatre of cruelty, theatre of the absurd and theatre of the oppressed.

Our drama ensemble is in its beginning stages. We havent begun to put it together as a performance but we have been brainstorming many ideas that we feel could work well in our piece.

For use of theatre of the cruelty we have thought it would be very shocking to the audience if they were to witness an abortion on stage. This would also tie in nicely with the theme as abortion was illegal back in the 50’s and in this time of rebellion it was popular for kids to fall pregnant without husbands.

We also know that were going to have atleast one bodgie and one widgie as characters and atleast one conservative older person. We are considering using colour to seperate whether a person is a teenager or an adult.

Were also considering to start off with Elvis presley on stage and then show how the rebellion was believed to of been caused by rock’n’roll music.
